School Facilities

Classrooms
The school facilitates spacious, airy and well-ventilated rooms fully equipped with closets, comfortable chairs with desks, white boards, bulletin and smart boards and projectors (multimedia).
learning resources room
The school has a well organized learning resources room with projector, computer, internet access, learning materials, tools and books for the students and teachers to work on.
Science laboratory
The school also provides the facility of a well-equipped science laboratory that was designed by lab specialist and has all safety requirements.
Library, computer lab, and an art room
There is also a library with about 1000 books only for primary school in English, French as well as Arabic language, beside of the library there are also a computer lab, and an art room.

 

Playgrounds
The sports activities are carried out in spacious playgrounds: two outdoor and one indoor playground in KG section.

In grades section we have one indoor and one outdoor playground.

 

         

Services

         

   1) Technical Services
 The school offers the facility of an (IT) room with internet access connecting the teacher's rooms, administration, principal's office and the library. The IT rooms are fully equipped and arrayed with the latest generation Pentiums. The school also has a LAN network set-up restricted to IT lab only. The technicians are resumed to oversee the maintenance of the technical equipment.

 

   2)Student Support Services

 RIS believes in supporting the student's learning and hence takes initiative in the following developmental areas:

  - Physical Education

 K.G. section specify fifteen minutes at the beginning of every day for exercising in the morning assembly and students take one sport period a week.

 The school's curriculum includes a well-defined sports schedule(twice a week for each class) which organize games like basket ball, football, table-tennis, etc. and explain the importance of sport and give some health education .Teacher ask students to search about different health information and to demonstrate them to class.

  - Cognitive Development:

 Cognitive skills are enhanced by conducting regular competitions like quiz times, spelling bee contests, recitations and mat most talented student .

  - Social and Emotional Development:

   In the K.G section:

     1. Educational unites are conducted to support the emotional and social development. E.g. family, emotion, healthy behavior etc .which are demonstrated in the class room.

  2. Extra activities like plays (about hygiene, healthy food and healthy behavior) and rhymes.

   In the GRADE section:

 Extracurricular activities are conducted together in the:

 1. Community building assembly in activity room to develop their self-confidence, social, emotional skills and behavior.

 2. Some clubs enhance student's abilities by discussing different topics and introducing new concepts

 3. Also, The principal, Academic supervisor, student counselor, teachers are working together to provide students moral and emotional support.

  Student Enhancement Program

   To improve low achievers educational level we are providing them with enhancement program for all subjects to develop their weaknesses points. Also Arabic enhancement classes during school time for those who don't speak Arabic.

 
   3)Staff Vocational and Training Support Services

 - The School Workshops and seminars have been conducted at the beginning of every school year and in regular basis.

 - Teachers weekly meetings- teachers of the same subject meet weekly in an appointed dated with the academic supervisor to discuss class management, the importance of building up a good relationship with students and providing them with encouraging environment, discuss each subject strategies and techniques of teaching it.

 - Attending conferences and Teacher Professional Development Days.

 - Offering courses to develop staff.

 - School conducts an annual survey for teachers twice a year to measure their recommendations and suggestions.

 

   4)Field Trips and other extra-curricular activities:

 - Field trips are organized three times annually for grades section and five times for K.G. section including educational tours.

 - Some excursions were planned to emphasize some lessons like neighbor excursions or visit to a bakery and milk factory for lower grades and K.G.

 - Celebrating important days (Earth Day, Mothers Day..etc).

 

   5)Extracurricular activities:

 - The school organizes festivals for national day, carnivals, healthy food and sport day.

 - School morning assembly which provides students with a lot of general information and to reinforce their self confidence.

 - The school organizes some competitions like spelling bee competition and Quran reciting.

 - The school activates international days like mothers' day, Earth day, Teacher day and others.

 - The School clubs aim to build meaningful relationships which provide them with a sense of belonging where they all work together for a common goal.

 
   6)After School Social gatherings:

 It is the responsibility of the General Administration and School Committees.

 

   7)Staff meeting:

 Periodic staff meetings are held to discuss the school's improvement plan and operations.

 

   8)Stakeholders Communication:

 In the K.G section

 - The school sends the conduct book weekly which show the students behavioral and educational progress. It also has section for the teacher and parents comments.

 - The homeroom teacher and academic supervisor contact parents via the phone calls or by sending notification.

 - Parents- teacher's conference conducted twice a year.

 - School conducts two surveys per year for parents aiming to gather opinions, suggestions and recommendations of parents regarding students and school.

 In grades section,

 - Parents -Teachers conferences are held twice annually to promote communication process between parents and the school.

 - Letters sent by the principal and the academic advisor to convey messages regarding school plan in different dimensions.

 - Teachers` emails are available under request for any explanation or question.

 - Calling and meeting teachers during free periods given as a table of school visiting time at the beginning of the year.

 - Calendar of all school events are distributed at the beginning of each semester.

 - Notice sheets are sent to parents in case of a student's misconduct, repeating unexcused absence, not doing homework.

 - Teachers would ask for meeting in case of consecutive misbehavior or to discuss the students educational progress.

 - School conducts two surveys per year for parents aiming to gather opinions, suggestions and recommendations of parents regarding students and school.

   9)Bus Services:

 The school doesn`t own its fleet, yet it has a contract with A`ahad al- Wafa`a School Transportation Company. Each bus has a monitor to secure safety.

 
   10)Healthy Food Service:

 - K.G custodians distribute a pie and juice or milk to the children daily. Mothers are free to provide their children with a packed lunch including a healthy snack.

 - Canteen facility, available for the grades section students and the staff, sells healthy snack or food.

 - Candy and sodas are not allowed as part of students` snack.

 - Milk and juice are preferred beverages.

 - We suggest a packed lunch including fruit, sandwiches, raw vegetables, milk, yogurt, juice or water.

 

   11)Fire and Safety Services:

 Emergency exits, school maps and emergency procedures are available for the students who are trained during community building assembly and by educational units in K.G. section to do scheduled practice drills of these procedures throughout the year.

 

   12)Medical Services:

 The school has first aid facilities to oversee general health and hygiene matters; also school has nursing room provided with bed for sick students who will be cared of by first aid licensed teacher. It also supports activities like regular dental checkups by the dentist, first aid session, personal hygiene session that is held in community building assembly and with our clubs like healthy habits and safety club etc.

   13)Admission Services:

 Admissions will be granted on issuing Passport/ Iqama. The registration will be done along with health records of the student.
